Why “Just in Case” Is Costing You More Than You Think

“Just in case” sounds responsible. Sensible. Safe.
But often, it’s a quiet form of fear.

The Cost of Holding On
Just-in-case items take up:
Physical space
Mental space
Time and attention
They crowd out the things you actually use and enjoy.
Trust Your Future Self
Keeping everything assumes your future self will be less capable than your present one.
In reality, you’ll make better decisions with better information when the time comes.
Ask Better Questions
Instead of:
What if I need this?
Try:
Would I buy this again today?
Is this easy to replace?
Is this worth the space it takes right now?
Space Is a Resource
Using space intentionally is not wasteful.
It’s wise.
